My Tragic Animals by bumble-boo My Tragic Animals by bumble-boo
Tragic babies!

I made a journal about this too, but I want to let you guys know I think I am going to start posting more regularly on my Tumblr. It is not strictly an art blog, but just to let you guys know!

Not sure if I'm abandoning dA completely, but I want to focus a bit more on Tumblr. :)

OH MY GOD BOO STORY IS THE MORE TRAGIC THING I HAVE EVER READ, POOR POOR BOO!!

Now, jokes aside, I'm so glad they are alright, it's really hard to have someone as dear as a pet in such a horrible situation

Yes!! I'm so glad they survived. Little heartbreakers.

Haha, yes. Boo is a very tragic beast, indeed! He does a little dying cat parade every breakfast and dinner-time.

My cousin's dog survived parvo, he actually acted like normal - very hyper and trying to bite my pants off o.e

Well, that's good! Lucy acted normal and was very playful the first day I had her, but then she started sleeping way too much, and just sitting around, couldn't keep anything down. She's a happy energetic young lady now, though. :)

Hehe, thank you! I was pretty happy with how she came out too, I find her brindle colouring is tough to paint!
Haha, that he does! He's a chubby little man who sleeps in the sun all day!

That's amazing you're dog survived parvo. : ) One of my Chihuahuas caught it when she was only a few months old. She's spoiled rotten, lol.

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that! Lucy had it when I got her actually, so she was just 9 weeks. It was a pretty sad affair! She was at the vet for a week. :(

I'm glad to hear your dog made it too!

I forget if she was given any medication, but I do remember that my folks took her to the vet's every morning (or was it every other day?) to have her skin filled with water so she could stay hydrated. We honestly think that is why her skin hangs a little loose and creates rolls on her, lol.

Yeah, they say Parvo comes from bird poop, but that we can honestly track it in from wherever we've been in the outside world. That scenario may have been what happened, because I've NEVER seen my dogs scarf down bird funk.

Hooray for surviving dogs!

Haha, aww rolly skin!

Yeah, I dunno. I haven't heard that, since canine parvovirus is specific to dogs. It is, however, incredibly highly contagious. Even just sniffing the poop of an infected dog I believe gives a chance to contract the virus. Infected dogs are still contagious 6 months post recovery, and houses (even well cleaned with bleach) are usually contagious up to a year. We cleaned our entire apartment with bleach... everything, just in case, because we wanted to get as rid of as much of the virus as we could, for other puppies in our apartment building. But all we really managed to do was get the virus to a manageable level. It's an incredibly versatile and annoying virus!

But yes! It's wonderful both our dogs were survivors!

Awwww! Boo has many things he does, (like dish tapping, knocking things over, always being underfoot)... but he's a pretty quiet cat vocally. :D

Martin on the other hand....

All three of my cats are very vocal. Two are half Siamese and sound very Siamese, and the other (the poor pathetic starving kitty) was a stray so we have no idea what her ancestry is. She doesn't have the Siamese voice that the other two do, but she's plenty vocal.
