It doesn't look like a cat, but maybe the position makes you think that he should be one. Perhaps if his jaw was a little larger it would make the confusion more difficultc, anyways, it's a lovely work, so don't worry!
Yeah, I think it is the position cause even when I was drawing it I saw it as being cat-like.
Hehe, yeah! the dogs usually do that XD cats like to use their paws
