It's kind of ridiculous how true this is. Most of my friends are shy or anxious, even online, so even if they really want to talk to someone, they're scared of them. I see numerous posts and have sat in on a lot of conversations where people express that they are more than willing to talk if someone approaches them, but even then, they're scared. Scared of frightening the person away; scared of offending them; scared of looking like fool. . . We're all in the same boat.
Aww, exactly! It really sucks how we have these anxieties, even though we're sometimes completely aware of them. Maybe we're afraid because we think others don't understand them? I'm not sure. It's kind of crazy how many people feel this way though!
I wanted to make a series that people could relate to, and hopefully make people feel like they're not alone.
Teddy bears, I agree! That's a good way to put it!
Our society doesn't really offer much room for any kind of "weakness." Even in order to get a job, you need to be social and network and put yourself out there, which is completely terrifying to most people I know.
I think you've been very successful with your series so far. I know I can relate.
